Let's make this hydrating Berry Coco “Gatorade” together!

Ingredients

  • 64 fl oz - Spring Water, boiled
  • ¼ Cup - Goji Berry, whole
  • ¼ Cup - Hawthorn Berry, whole
  • 2 Tbsp - Hibiscus Flower, Cut
  • 2 16 fl oz can - Favorite Coconut Water
  • 4-8 Limes - Juice from both, zest and slice of lime set aside for garnish
  • ½ Cup - Local Honey or Sweetener of choice to taste
  • 1 Serving - Lemon Lime Electrolytes (Optional)
  • Ice for serving

Instructions

  1. Pour 64 fl oz of spring water into a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Once the water has boiled, turn the heat down to simmer, add the Goji and Hawthorn Berries to the water, stir, cover, and allow it to simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. After 30 minutes, turn off the heat, add the hibiscus flowers, stir, and allow the combination to steep while covered as it cools for another 30 minutes.
  4. Use a fine mesh strainer and a large bowl to strain the herbs from the tea. Use the flat side of a large spoon to press out any excess water from the herbs before discarding.
  5. Add 2 16 fl oz cans of Coconut Water, the juice from 6-8 limes, and ½ cup of honey.  Stir until evenly combined. Optional: Add additional electrolytes, if desired.
  6. The combination is now ready to be served immediately over ice!
  7. Herbalist’s Tip: Make some “loaded” ice cubes by freezing some of your preparation and using those ice cubes to serve.  Then your limeade is never watered down! Yum!
