How to Use the Capsule Machine

Today we are going to show you how to use the Capsule Connection Machine, available at Herbally Grounded in both "0" and "00".  This machine is easy to use and makes quick work of any encapsulation project!

Instructions:

  1. Choose your capsule size "0" or "00" and match it to the correct corresponding capsule machine.

  2. Unbox your capsule machine and place the base of the capsule machine onto its stand on a flat dish or tray.  Also place the shorter machine top with the holes facing upward next to the base on the tray.  (A baking sheet with a rim, a pyrex casserole dish, or a bowl with a flat bottom will do).

  3. Separate the longer bottom halves of the empty capsules from the shorter top halves.  As you do this, push the longer halves into the larger base with the open side facing upward, and do the same with the shorter halves into the top.

  4. Once all of the holes have an empty capsule, begin pouring approximately 1 tablespoon of powdered material into the base and begin sweeping the powder into the holes.

  5. Next, use the tamping tool to compact the powder and fill the base again.

  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until it is no longer possible to press any more powder into the capsules.  If there is any excess powder on top of the base, but it can no longer be tamped into the holes, sweep it off the top.

  7.  Insert the top of the machine into the top of the base, and remove the machine from the stand.  Place the machine back on your flat surface, press down until evenly bottomed out, and release the pressure. (You should hear a soft crunching sound as the capsules click together.)

  8. Remove the top of the machine from the base; the capsules should come out of the base and be stuck in the top.  The top of the machine has a spring-like mechanism.  Apply even pressure to each side of the spring mechanism, and the capsules should easily eject from the top. (Note: I find that the machine only closes the capsules most of the way.  I press down on the capsules one more time with my fingers before I eject them to make sure they are fully closed.)

  9. Continue the following process until you finish making your batch of capsules.  Be sure to label a storage jar with the name of the encapsulated material and the encapsulation date to stay organized and track freshness.

Happy Encapsulating!
